CONSTITUTION:When an engine is judged to be in an idling state from an output of a throttle opening sensor 8, a control means 16 in a controller 15 controls a control valve 11 during engine idling to control the quantity of bypass air passing through a bypass passage 10 for performing the feedback control of the number of idling revolutions to the target number of revolutions. In this case, the controller 15 is further provided with an air quantity detecting means 17 to detect the bypass air quantity on a signal for the number of engine revolutions and an output signal issued from the control means 16, and a deviation detecting means 18 to detect the deviation of the last value of the bypass air quantity from its present value. When the deviation exceeds its set value, a correcting means 19 corrects the totally closed output of a throttle valve 6.
