CONSTITUTION:Because a heating control part 4b of a heat signal applying means 4 heats and drives a printing object heat generation part 4a according to the printing bits of image information, ink dots are formed on a recording sheet 5 according to a basic image information pattern. At this time, if the aforesaid printing bit is isolated, an auxiliary heating control part 4c accordingly heats the heat generation part 4a adjacent to the printing object heat generation part 4a. In this manner, a high-temperature heating range in an ink unit area corresponding to the printing object heat generation part 4a can be ensured to be as large as when the printing bits are continuous. Therefore, in this thermal electrostatic ink jet recording method, without being affected by the image information pattern, a flying action in the ink unit area can be stabilized, and the ink dots can be uniformalized in diametral dimension.
