Abstract
PURPOSE: To facilitate gate adjustment by providing gates with weir members and providing the machine with gate adjusting mechanisms for adjusting the height of these weir members. CONSTITUTION: The gate adjustment mechanisms hold the first weir member 32 in nearly a horizontal position and the light materials to be sorted which are sent to the gate are discharged through the gate to the outside. The second weir member 33 of the gate is set nearly perpendicular and the heavy materials to be sorted (good-quality beans) sent to the gate cannot pass this gate and are stagnated just before the weir members. The light materials to be sorted are prevented from being discharged from the second gate by being mingled with the heavy materials to be sorted from which the light materials to be sorted (defective beans) are ought to be discharged. As a result, the adequate discharge of the materials to be sorted is made possible.
