Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to obtain a sintered substrate for a Ni-Cd battery in which the coated surface is smooth and the pore size after sintering is large by using nickel slurry prepared by dispersing nickel powder in a specific aqueous solution. CONSTITUTION:Nickel slurry prepared by dispersing nickel powder in an aqueous solution containing methylcellulose and hydroxypropyl methylcellulose is applied to the surface of a porous substrate, and dried to obtain a smooth coated surface. The substrate is then sintered to make a nickel sintered substrate having large pore size. The nickel sintered substrate for a Ni-Cd battery in which the filling process of an active material is made easy and its filling amount is increased, the performance of an electrode is increased, the coated surface is smooth, and the generation of cracks is prevented is obtained.
