Abstract
PURPOSE:To inspect exactly the shape of coat of a coating material applied with undulations of a certain height on a coated surface, by providing an arm member with a roller rolling on the coated surface in a state wherein the coating material is located between projecting elements and photosensing elements. CONSTITUTION:Projecting elements 7a-7j of a projector 7 and photosensing elements 8a-8j of a photosensor 8 are arranged in the direction perpendicular to a coated surface 1a and fitted to an arm member 3 so that they face each other. The member 3 is provided with a roller 5 rolling on the coated surface 1a in a state wherein a coating material 2 is located between the elements 7a-7j and 8a-8j. Although a light projected from the elements 7a-7j is sensed by the elements 8a-8j, it is intercepted by the coating material 2 according to its height, in this constitution, and therefore the number of the element 8a and others sensing the same is lessened. Outputs of these elements are compared with a reference value, and thereby the shape of coat is inspected. Besides, the projector 7 and the photosensor 8 are fitted to the member 3 with the roller rolling on the coated surface 1a, and thereby the position in the direction of the height from the coated surface 1a is maintained to be fixed.
