Abstract
NEW MATERIAL:The iminoacetic acid derivative of formula I (R1 is carboxyl- protecting group eliminable under acidic condition; R2 is H or amino-protecting group eliminable under acidic condition; B is protecting group of phenolic hy droxyl group and is selected from ethylidene, propylidene, butylidene, pentylidene, cyclopentylidene, two alkyl groups and two aralkyl groups). EXAMPLE:2-(2-Aminothiazol-4-yl)-2-[(S)-alpha-tert-butyloxycarbonyl-3, 4-o-isopropyli denedioxybenzyloxyimino]acetic acid. USE:A production intermediate for cephalosporin antibiotic substance. PREPARATION:The compound of formula I can be produced via 9 steps by using inexpensive catechol as a starting raw material. The compound of formula II which is an excellent antibiotic substance can be produced from the compound of formula I on an industrial scale at a low cost.
