Abstract

PURPOSE:To shorten the time required to treat waste water by installing a carrier and sludge separating means on the inlet side of a solid-liq. separating means such as a semipermeable membrane in series. CONSTITUTION:Raw water is introduced into an anaerobic or aerobic reaction tank 4 by a pump 2 through an inflow path 3, anaerobically or aerobically treated, discharged from an outflow path 5, pressurized by a pump 6 and passed through a solid-liq. separating apparatus 7. This apparatus 7 is fabricated by connecting a first separating means 7a such as a filter or an MF membrane and a second separating means 7b for removing fine particles such as an ultrafiltration membrane or a reverse osmosis membrane in series. The raw water is passed through both or one of the means 7a, 7b by regulating valves 8a, 8b.... Solid matter such as sludge separated by the separating means 7a is separated from a circuit 9 and discharged.
