Abstract

PURPOSE:To rationally form a protective layer on the surface of a powdery epoxy resin coating film by fusing many polyethylene grains to the surface to form protrusions. CONSTITUTION:A pipe 1 is heated by a heating furnace 4 to a temp. necessary for powdery epoxy resin coating, and coated with the epoxy resin by a powder coating gun 5. Pressure tightness is thus imparted to the pipe 1, which is supported by a skew tire 3 and transported. The grains of polyethylene, etc., are press-bonded by the pressure for supporting the pipe 1 to the surface of the epoxy resin coating film while melting a part of the grains with the heat of the pipe 1 by utilizing the skew tire 3. The powdery epoxy resin is then sufficiently cured to secure the performance as the coating film, and then water- cooled 6 to cool the pipe 1 to a temp. lower than the softening temp. of the grains. By this method, cost can be reduced.
