Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend noise reduction effect on a low frequency area as the amplitude of an input signal becomes smaller by adjusting the amplitude of a high pass components in input signals which are extracted in a high pass filter and whose amplitude is limited in a limitter and applying negative feedback to the input terminal of video signals. CONSTITUTION:A coefficient unit 7 multiplies a high pass component Sd in which the signal components more than a limited level is removed, which are outputted from a limitter 3, by a coefficient value K2, i.e., 0<=K2<=1/B. A subtractor 8 subtracts a high pass component K2.Sd which the coefficient unit 7 has level-adjusted from the input video signal Si. A negative feedback circuit consists of the coefficient unit 7 and the subtractor 8. The output signals are inputted to an HPF1 and a subtractor 2. Thus, noise reduction effect much more than a conventional example can be obtained at the time of inputting the signals of small amplitude, which have much noise components.
