Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain much noise reduction effect from a low frequency range even if an input video signal is of a small amplitude by providing a negative feedback circuit of a feedback coefficient usable from a limitter output to the input terminal of a high pass filter, to a conventional noise reduction circuit. CONSTITUTION:A coefficient unit 7 multiplies a high pass component Sd, in which a signal component more than a limited level outputted from a limitter 3 is removed, by a coefficient value K2, i.e., 0<=K2<=1/B. A subtractor 8 a high pass component K2.Sd which is level-adjusted in the coefficient unit 7 from the input video signal Si. The negative feedback circuit consists of the coefficient unit 7 and the subtractor 8. The output signal of the subtractor 8 is inputted to an HPF1. Since the value of a limitter gain L is enlarged as the amplitude of the input video signal Si becomes smaller, the characteristic of the frequency is considerably attenuated from low frequency to a high one. Thus, much noise reduction effect can be obtained.
