Abstract

PURPOSE:To drive an objective lens only to a focus control, to simplify and miniaturize a driving mechanism and to attain a high speed access, by varying the light emitting wavelength of a semiconductor laser and controlling the beam width of a laser beam through a beam shaping prism. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the output of a photodetector 7 of a light emitting wavelength variable means 10, an injecting current is feedback- controlled and the wavelength of the laser beam from a semiconductor laser 1 is desired and controlled. The laser beam becomes a parallel light flux by a collimator lens 2, becomes a laser beam to control one side beam width in accordance with the wavelength with a triangular prism 3 and is outputted through an objective lens 5.
