Abstract

PURPOSE:To exactly and rapidly judge the completion of sintering from the outside of a furnace by measuring the electric resistance value of a sintering material at the time of sintering the material in the furnace. CONSTITUTION:The sintering material M is imposed on a material placing base 2 in the furnace body 1. The sintering material M and a resistance measuring instrument 5 are connected by conductors 6, 6' through a hole 4 provided on the furnace wall. The electric resistance value of the sintering material M is previously measured before the sintering and a heating element 3 is energized to generate heat, by which the sintering material M is heated and sintered. The electric resistance value of the material M is kept measured during the sintering and the energization of the element 3 is stopped by making judgment that the sintering is completed when the change in the electric resistance value stops and/or when a prescribed value is attained. The completion of the sintering is thereby exactly and rapidly judged from the outside of the electric furnace, by which the working efficiency is improved and the energy is conserved.
