Abstract

PURPOSE:To record and reproduce a signal of large quantity of information such as high-definition video signal by providing n-pieces of frequency band compression means and frequency band expansion means, recording compressed signals in a recording medium, dividing n-times multiplied information into n-pieces of divisions at the time of expanding the frequency band of a reproduced signal, recording area simultaneously, reproducing them simultaneously, and synthesizing them. CONSTITUTION:A high definition video signal inputted to an input terminal 5 is sampled and quantized by an A/D converter 10, and a valid image is written in a quad- segmented frame memory 12, then the divisions are supplied respectively to sampling circuits 17-20.
