Abstract

PURPOSE:To immediately execute the picture recording of all programs and all pages of all channels related to character broadcasting signals onto a magnetic tape, or an optical disc, etc., with the changeover of switching circuits by providing plural tuner circuits and receiving the mutually different channels simultaneously. CONSTITUTION:When switching circuits 5 and 6 are connected to a character broadcasting side, the mutually different channels are simultaneously searched by plural tuner circuits 50A-50N. The character broadcasting signals are extracted from video signals sent with respective channels by respective character broadcasting receiving parts 9A-9N, the extracted signals are converted to be digital and they are temporarily stored into a memory 26. Further, for the signals stored in the memory 26, frequencies are converted from a high band to a low band by a time converting circuit so that the signal can be recorded even by a video tape recorder, and all programs and all pages even as to all channels are recorded by a recording and reproducing part 7 of the video tape recorder as the signals remain to be digital signals. At the time of reproducing, the signals fetched by a head are restored to the original frequencies by the memory, reproduced to character signals and outputted.
