Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform the maintenance of a telephone exchange without lowering a service to a subscriber by enabling outgoing from the subscriber or incoming to the subscriber to be performed even in executing a test, by substituting a circuit for a subscriber circuit to be tested by using a spare subscriber circuit. CONSTITUTION:When a maintenance engineer instructs the test of the subscriber circuit 3 by inputting a command, a subscriber circuit controller 5 checks the state of a subscriber line 2 by the indication of a central control unit 7, and connects the subscriber line 2 to the spare subscriber circuit 4 by switching a switch 8 to a contact 11 in a null state, and the central control unit 7 issues an instruction to connect the subscriber circuit 3 and a subscriber circuit test device 6 to the subscriber controller 5 by a switch 9. Also, when the subscriber line 2 is used, the central control unit 7 issues the instruction to interrupt the test to the subscriber circuit test device 6. Thus, the test of the subscriber circuit 3, etc., is performed by using the spare subscriber circuit 4 when the subscriber line 2, etc., is set at the null state.
