Abstract
PURPOSE: To improve the airtightness of sealing and improve the thermal shock and chemical resistance by using the boro-silicate glass containing specific masses of B2 O3 , SiO2 , Al2 O3 , an alkaline metal oxide, and an alkaline earth metal oxide respectively for sealing an α-alumina component to a β-alumina component. CONSTITUTION: The boro-silicate glass having high boric acid concentration for sealing an α-alumina component to a β-alumina component is used. The glass constituted of B2 O3 of 10-25mass%, SiO2 of 65-75mass%, Al2 O3 of most of the remaining mass, an alkali metal oxide, and an alkaline earth metal oxide of 1mass% an maximum is used. The glass is used in the powder form or as a preliminary molding such as a glass ring guided between the surfaces of the α-alumina and β-alumina to be integrally sealed respectively, and it is fused and sealed airtightly.
