Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the processing efficiency of a computer by using a memory disk as a kind of memories of a buffer part. CONSTITUTION:A memory disk 17, a parameter list 13b and an access control routine 13a are provided to a main memory 11. The routine 13a retrieves the list 13b every time a using request is received for external memories 15a, 15b and 15n. Then the programs of the memories 15a-15n are sent to the disk 17. Hereafter the transferred programs are started continuously until the disk 17 is filled with programs. In other words, the disk 17 is used as a kind of buffer memories. Then the programs are transferred between the disk 17 and the memory 11 until the disk 17 is filled with the programs and these programs are erased. Thus the memory 11 is partly sacrificed for the disk 17. However the transfer of programs is minimized between the low-speed memories 15a-15n and the memory 11. Thus the processing efficiency is extremely improved for a computer.
