Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-density ceramic form in high efficiency by impregnating a ceramic form with a specific liquid by affording said liquid with pressure taking advantage of a pressure-transmitting liquid such as water. CONSTITUTION:Water 2 is put in a pressure vessel 1, furfuryl alcohol 4 is made present, through a rubber 3, in this water 2, and a carbonaceous form 5 is placed in said alcohol 4. Thence, pressure reduction within the rubber 3 is performed followed by pressurizing the water 2 to exert a pressure on the alcohol 4 to impregnate the form 5 with said alcohol 4. The resulting form is then made hardened by heating at specified rate, being furthermore heated in an oven to carry out a purifying treatment, thus obtaining the objective high-density carbonaceous material.
