Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent thermal decomposition under the operating conditions of a thermal recording head, ensure easy sublimation and favorable tone reproduction properties and enhance stability to light, moisture and chemicals, by using a specified indoaniline cyan coloring matter. CONSTITUTION:An indoaniline cyan coloring matter of formula I can be controlled in the quantity thereof transferred through sublimation, by regulating the energy supplied to a thermal head at the time of thermal transfer. Therefore, the coloring matter enables easy gradational recording, and is suitable for full-color recording. Further, the coloring matter is free of thermal decomposition during transfer recording, because of the stability thereof to heat, light, moisture, chemicals and the like,and the preservability of records being obtained is excellent. The coloring matter is favorable in solubility in organic solvents and dispersibility in water, so that it is easy to prepare a high-concentration ink comprising the coloring matter uniformly dissolved or dispersed, and records with favorable color density can be obtained. Thus, the coloring matter is of practical value.
