Abstract

PURPOSE:To impart appropriate sublimability and contrive higher color forming properties and preservation stability, by using a yellow coloring matter for sublimation transfer type thermal recording represented by a specified formula. CONSTITUTION:A yellow coloring matter for sublimation transfer type thermal recording is represented by formula (I), wherein X is hydrogen, chlorine, methyl, methoxyl or trifluoromethyl, and R is a substd. alkyl, alkenyl or aralkyl. This coloring matter is used to prepare a coloring matter ink, which is applied to a base to produce a sublimation transfer material. The coloring matter ink generally comprises the sublimable coloring matter, a binder and a compound having absorption at the oscillational wavelength of a laser, and is prepared through dissolution or grinding in a solvent. The sublimation transfer material is a sublimation transfer material for magenta of three primary colors which has appropriate sublimability, favorable color forming properties and excellent preservation stability of recorded images.
