Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the possibility of falsification and ensure high transfer printing quality, high color density o transferred images and a high-intensity fluorescent color, by incorporating a solid solution of a fluorescent dye in a resin or wax and a water-insoluble or water-soluble resin into a thermal transfer ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink layer comprising a pigment and/or dye, a water-insoluble resin and/or water-soluble resin, a wax and a surfactant as main constituents is provided on a base. The ink layer comprises at least a solid solution of a fluorescent dye in a resin and/or wax. For preventing falsification, the thermal transfer ink layer is formed by using a water dispersion type ink which comprises a particulate ink comprising the solid solution of the fluorescent dye in the resin and/or wax, the pigment and/or dye, the water-insoluble resin and/or water-soluble resin, the wax, and the surfactant.
