Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote transfer of dyes to a recording medium and enable fine printing through reduction of threshold energy by a method wherein thermal subliming dyes mixed with magnetic material are used not only to apply light or heat, but also actuate a magnetic field.
CONSTITUTION: To a printing medium 9 formed by laying a dye layer 12 composed of thermal subliming dyes mixed with magnetic material on flexible transparent substrate 13 composed of resins etc. are applied laser rays from a laser-rays generating device 1 in correspondence to printing signals, which sublimes the dye-layer 12 to transfer dyes on to a recording medium 10 ajacent to the printing medium 9. In this case, by providing a permanent magnet 14 at the back of the recording medium 10 and actuating a magnetic field, transferring operation of dyes containing magnetic material is promoted.
EFFECT: Since dyes can be transferred with a small energy of laser rays, fine and clear printing becomes possible by means of smaller dot diameter for laser rays.
