Abstract

CONSTITUTION:This element has an upper polarizing plate 101, a liquid crystal cell (upper cell) 102 as an optical anisotropic body, the upper base body 103 of an upper cell, the liquid crystal layer 104 of the upper cell, the lower base body 105 of the upper cell, a liquid crystal cell (display cell) 106 which makes a display, the upper base body 107 of the display cell, the upper electrode 108 of the display cell, the liquid crystal layer 109 of the display cell, the lower electrode 110 of the display cell, the color filter 111, the lower base body 112 of the display cell, and a lower polarizing plate 113. Then the color filter 111 is different in area by the colors. Consequently, there is no variance in contrast ratio by the colors and the image quality with good color balance is obtained.
