PURPOSE:To uniformly mix and diffuse a combustion substance throughout the whole of a sand layer, by a method wherein the air feed opening ratio of an air dispersion plate is varied at each section according to the taper angle of a taper side wall, and feed air is divided for feed according to the opening area. CONSTITUTION:A combustion furnace 10 is provided with a fluidized bed combustion device 9 wherein a fluidized bed part 2 consists of a taper side wall 4 having an opening angle increased toward the above and an air dispersion plate 5 is disposed on the bottom of the side wall 4. The air dispersion plate 5 with which a taper angle theta of the taper side wall 4 is set is divided into a central part 56 and other part 57 having opening ratios and section areas Ai and Ar, respectively, being different from each other.
