Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide a lightweight thermos bottle having excellent heat retaining properties and anticorrosive properties by forming an opening in the bottom of an outer bottle, placing sealing member having a larger diameter than this opening with a metal for diffusion welding interposed, placing a seal plate around the evacuation hole formed at the sealing member while a solid brazing material is interposed, and subjecting it to a vacuum heating process. CONSTITUTION: An opening 3 is formed in the bottom of an outer bottle 2 as facing upward, and around this opening 3, a sealing member 4 having a larger diameter than the opening 3 is placed where an insert metal 7 made of a metal for diffusion welding is interposed. A solid brazing material 8 is provided at certain intervals around the evacuation hole provided on the sealing member 4, and a seal plate 6 is placed on the solid brazing material 8. The obtained assembly is put in a vacuum heating furnace and undergoes an evacuating and a heating processes. The seal plate 6 sinks by its own weight, blocks the evacuation hole 5, and is put in tight attachment to the sealing member 4. By subsequent cooling, the dispersive joining part of the bottom of outer bottle 2 with the sealing member 4 and the solid brazing material 8 are solidified so that the void 9 is sealed in a vacuum.
