Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve cooling efficiency by fringing a wire rod for drawing into contact with liquid while winding and drawing the same from an intermediate drum provided between a die of a wire rod drawing equipment and a winding drum. CONSTITUTION:In a wire drawing equipment composed of a wire rod intermediate winding drum 13 of one state at least between a die 3 and a winding drum 7, the wire rod 1 for drawing passes through a lubricant container 2, a die box 3 and a cooling box 11 before the wire rod 1 is wound up by a plurality of turns around the intermediate drum 9. Then, water or oil, etc., is supplied from a cooling water supply ports 8 in parallel with each other to cool the wire rod 1 and to wind it up around the winding drum 7. Thereby, a drastic cooling efficiency is obtained in a limited space.
