Abstract

PURPOSE:To accurately measure an optional current value by mounting a test coil which produces a positive and a negative test magnetic field and a detection coil for pulse electromotive force on a compound magnetic substance which is treated specially and putting the compound magnetic substance in operation. CONSTITUTION:The compound magnetic substance 1 is so treated that only the magnetic direction of a part where holding force is relatively small is changed to the positive or negative direction according to the operation direction of an auxiliary external magnetic field and further changed speedily when a main external magnetic field operates next in the same direction with the orientation magnetism of a part where the holding force is large. An exciting coil 3 produces a magnetic field corresponding to the level of an AC current Ia to be detected and a signal current generator 6 generates the positive and negative test magnetic fields by the test coil 4 at intervals of a half cycle of the current to be detected. A computing element 17 tests the intensity of the test magnetic field from the voltage across a resistance R at the generation point of the pulse electromotive force of the detection coil 2 to calculate the value of the object current, thus accurately measuring the optional current value.
