Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a separate coater for providing an insulating layer, an exhausting device or control of film thickness and make it possible to obtain a constantly fixed and uniform insulating layer, by providing an insulating transfer layer for each area coated with a conductive ink. CONSTITUTION:A conductive resin 2 provided on a base film 1 is, for example, a conductive ink comprising a conductive resin blend prepared by mixing a conductive substance such as a copper powder into a thermosetting synthetic resin. For each one area coated with the conductive ink 2, an insulating transfer layer 3 is provided which comprises an insulating resin blend prepared by mixing an insulating material into a synthetic resin, e.g., a thermosetting synthetic resin, or comprising an insulating thermosetting synthetic resin, and is capable of being thermally transferred. In a predetermined step before or after printing, this conductive ink sheet is moved to position the insulating transfer layer 3 at a predetermined position by using sensor marks and a controller, and a thermal head is energized to transfer the insulating layer onto an object, e.g., a printed wiring board.
