Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the withstand voltage and enhance the reliability by interposing a ceramic material containing a certain amount of alumina between heat emitting elements and heat radiating plates on both sides thereof, and by transmitting the heat from the heat emitting elements to a heat radiating plate effectively. CONSTITUTION:In existing heat emission structure 1, heat emitting elements 2 having positive temp. factor in the central position are provided in an aligned condition. When a pair of electrode wires 7 are connected with a power supply, all heat emitting elements 2 are connected parallelly with the power supply to generate Joule's heat, which is transmitted to a heat radiating plate 6 through an electrode 3, electrode plate 4, and ceramic material 5. This ceramic material 5 is in the form of a sintered plate containing alumina over 70% and contacting the heat radiating plate 6 either directly or through a cushion material 8 such as metal foil. The heat radiating plate 6 transmits heat effectively to a liquid as a body to be heated. This secures good electrical insulative performance and raises the withstand voltage.
