Abstract

PURPOSE: To lower the undesirable magnetic field, which is radiated to a front surface of a screen, caused by a deflecting coil at a low cost by providing a magnetism shunt means, which is formed of a magnetic permeable ring, between a deflecting coil and a screen of a cathode-ray tube. CONSTITUTION: Deflecting coils 16, 18 generate a variable magnetic field for horizontal scanning, which cross a screen 14, in a cathode-ray tube 12. In the case of concerning two coils in these deflecting coils 16, 18, namely, loops 20, 22, unterminated coil parts 32, 34, 36, 38 of the two loops 20, 22 only form loops, and not work for generating a magnetic field for deflection, and furthermore, they are cause of the generation of undesirable external magnetic field to be radiated to a front surface of the screen 14. The magnetic field radiated to the front surface of the screen can be effectively lowered by providing a magnetism shunt means made of a magnetic permeable ring 50 between the deflecting coils 16, 18 and the screen 14.
