Abstract
PURPOSE:To correct the distortion in electron beam spot due to deflection magnetic field, by providing three pairs of electromagnets on the external surface of a shield cup of electron guns located as in-line and providing magnet poles introducing the magnetic field inside of the surfaces. CONSTITUTION:When horizontal and vertical synchronous parabola current flows to coils 13a, 13b of a pair of center beam electromagnets 11a, 11b, generated magnetic fields 14a, 14b transmit corresponding magnet poles 7a, 7b and a magnetic field 15 is produced between the magnet poles 7a, 7b at the circumference of an electron beam through-hole 4. As a result, since a vertical force 16 to a magnetic field 15 is exerted to the electron beam, the electron beam can be deformed lenghwise and the flat electron beam spot at the screen circumference can be formed almost to a true circle. The distortion can similarly be corrected for side beam through-hole 3, 5.
