Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a superconducting electromagnetic shielding material which enables complete magnetic shielding and has high mechanical strength by providing an oxide superconductor layer. CONSTITUTION:An oxide film 3 is formed on a base 2 composed at least at its surface of sole metal selected from group IVa metal elements, such as Ti, Zr, Hf, etc., and group Va metal elements, such as Nb, Ta, etc., or alloy containing these metals, and a shielding layer 4 made of oxide superconductor is formed on the oxide film. Accordingly, the oxide superconductor for forming the layer 4 exhibits complete nonmagnetism by Meissner effect in a magnetic field of critical magnetic field Hc or less at a temperature of its critical temperature Tc or less. Thus, an electromagnetic wave can be completely intercepted to completely shield an electromagnetic wave.
