Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a magnet which cuts air, moisture, solvents and chemicals and prevents oxidation by covering the surface of a magnet, which is manufactured by adding a thermosetting resin to magnet powder obtained by superquick cooling method from rare earth metal, iron and boron and then compressing powder magnet, with a melamine resin. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a magnet, which is manufactured by adding a thermosetting resin to magnet powder obtained by the superquick cooling method from rare earth metal, iron and boron forming the basic composition and then compressing powder magnet, with the melamine resin in the thickness of 0.1-50mum. The melamine resin used is a condensed melamine having the constitution indicated by the formula I and is a thermally hardening material having a three-dimensional net constitution. Thickness of covering is set to 0.1mum or more because if it is 0.1mum or less, it is difficult to maintain high reliability due to generation of ununiform layer. Meanwhile, if thickness becomes 50mum or more, it is undesirable because the processing time becomes longer and manufacturing cost becomes high. Thereby, a magnet having oxidation resistance, excellent stability of magnetic flux and high reliability can be obtained.
