Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the operating cost of an iron removing apparatus to a large extent by adsorbing iron oxide in feed water by forming a strong magnetic field by reduced power consumption and automatically removing the adsorbed iron oxide without stopping a plant. CONSTITUTION:In a thermal power plant, a superconducting magnet 1 is provided to the outside of the water feed piping between a degassing device water storage tank and a water feed pump. The difference between the water feed pressures in the water feed piping on the upstream and downstream sides of the superconducting magnet 1 is detected by a difference pressure sensor 3. Further, water feed valve 4, 5 are provided on the upstream and downstream sides of the superconducting magnet 1 and a bypass valve 6 is provided in the bypass piping 2 bypassing a main magnet arranging piping and a drain valve 7 is provided to the magnet arranging piping on the downstream side of the magnet thereof. As a result, iron oxide in feed water is removed by slight power consumption and the accumulated iron oxide can be cleaned perfectly and automatically without stopping a plant and, therefore, the operating cost of an iron component removing apparatus can be reduced to a large extent.
