Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a general purpose and highly economical submerged desalination apparatus in which an electric dialyzer and a reverse osmosis device are arranged vertically under the sea and desalination is carried out by utilizing the static pressure of the sea. CONSTITUTION:With the system in which the sea water sucked in the sea water storage 3 by the sea water pump 4 is passed through the electric dialyzer 2 from below to above and then a part of the concentrated sea water is discharged through the exhaust pipe 7 to the sea, the load burdened on the electric dialyzer is reduced. Furthermore, the primary fresh water 9 is passed through the reverse osmosis membrane 11 by menas of the static pressure of the sea water to obtain the secondary fresh water 12, thus obviating the need for the operating power of high-pressure pump.
