PURPOSE:To obtain a filter medium for magnetic separation which is excellent in resistance to acids and resistance to delayed fracture properties by coating organic high molecular compds. excellent in resistance to acids on amorphous alloy fiber having ferromagnetism. CONSTITUTION:A magnetic filter medium is obtained by coating organic high molecular compd. excellent in resistance to acids on amorphous alloy fiber having ferromagnetism. As the amorphous alloy fiber having ferromagnetism, substance having chemical composition consisting of 6-10% Cr, 10-50% total of one or two kinds of Co and Ni, 8-15% P, 2-10% one or more kinds of C or B and the balance iron is used. Further alloy is fibrous and its thickness is regulated to 7-25mum. Even when this magnetic filter is used in the high corrosive environment such as an electrogalvanizing line, strong resistance to acids is shown and therefore it can be used over a long period.
