Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the disturbance of a time base by replacing an erroneous error signal caused at dropout or the like of a reproducing signal to a preceding error signal level closest to the level of a peculiar error signal and outputting the result into a time base error signal. CONSTITUTION:The range of reference voltages +VTH1, -VTH1 of a window comparator 5 is selected to be sufficiently smaller than +VTH2, -VTH2 generated from an error level at preceding 1H. That is, an output of the window comparator 5 with respect to an output B of a sample and hold circuit 1 at a time t1 goes to a low level to inhibit 1 sampling by the sample and hold circuit 2, the reference values +HTH2, -VTH2 of the window comparator 9 are unchanged to hold a voltage before a time t3. Thus, the state change in the output of the window comparator 9 at a time t2 is prevented and as the output of the switch circuit 3, the state of selecting the sample and hold circuit 1 is continued. Thus, the disturbance in the time base due to dropout or the like is prevented.
