Abstract

The result is melted, cooled and crystallized to provide a friction adjusting material. This material has such features as no moisture absorption, no reaction with water, high thermal stability a Moh's hardness close to asbestos, good chemical resistance, no phase transfer, good affinity with inorganic fiber such as glass fiber or organic fiber such as amylad fiber, and good dispersion into such resin as phenol resin. Thus it should yield a friction material with favorable performance.
