Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain high-purity hexafluoropropylene, by reducing an impurity in hexafluoropropylene to an amount as less as possible by molecular sieve as an adsorbent, preferably to nothing. CONSTITUTION:Hexafluoropropylene containing perfluorobutyne-2, which is difficult to remove by ordinary distillation because of close boiling points, as an impurity, is brought into contact with molecular sieve, the amount of the impurity is reduced to an amount as less as possible, <=5ppm, preferably nothing to give high-purity hexafluoropropylene which can make a molecular weight of polymer higher and produce a fluoropolymer such as fluorine-containing elastomer or tetrafluoroethylene hexafluoropropylene copolymer fluoropolymer.
