Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide an oxygen gas selectively permeable membrane with superior N2 gas eliminating power, superior mechanical strength, and good stability to heat and light, which is made of polymer contg. aliph. tert. amino groups and having a degree of crystallization below 80% and a predetermined range of tensile elastic modulus.
CONSTITUTION: The membrane is made of polymer contg. aliph. tert. amino groups so that the N atoms of the groups is in the range of 0.1W14 gram eq./kg. The polymer has a degree of crystallization below 80, esp. below 60% and a tensile elastic modulus of 0.01W500, esp. 0.1W350 kg/cm2. In case of a polyether contg. aliph. tert. amino groups, it is produced by polymerizing a glycol contg. aliph. tert. amino groups or copolymerizing it with other glycol. The resulting polymer is formed into a flat, tubular or hollow membrane as usual to obtain the desired O2 gas selectively permeable membrane.
