Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable the interval of characters to be recorded to be set variably by providing a means to input character and character pitch information, a means to append information for a blank part which is set between a character and the next character, and a means to set the size of the blank part indicated by information to be appended. CONSTITUTION:A single line of image information is stored in the form of dots by using a known receiving circuit as an image input circuit 1 which receives image information to be printed and employing a random access memory as a memory 2 for storage of image information. This system is composed of an image processing circuit 3, a printing head drive circuit 4, a control circuit to control printing 6, a group of switches 7 for entry of information into the control circuit, etc. The memory 2 consists of blank information which is prepared in compliance with the interval of characters to be printed in a memory area for a single line of a character string 2-1, 2-3, and adjusts the interval of characters by reading information in an address set in the blank area 2-3 from an address set in the blank area 2-1.
