Abstract

PURPOSE:To simplify a system structure of a printing controller by making a bit map memory of a large capacity unnecessary, by a method wherein a character pattern string corresponding to a character code string stored in a printing character information storing means is read from a character pattern storing means, and is printed by a raster scan system according to a coordinate position which is stored in the printing character information storing means. CONSTITUTION:In a printing character information storing means 10, a character string to be printed is stored by a character code string and, besides, coordinate positional information to be printed of each character of the character string is stored correspondingly to the character code. A character pattern storing means 20 is so constructed that a dot pattern of the character is read by addressing the character code. An output controller 30 controls a character pattern string corresponding to the character code string stored in the printing character information storing means 10 which is read from the character pattern storing means 20, to be printed on a printer 40 according to the coordinate positional information of the character which is stored in the printing character information storing means 10.
