Abstract

PURPOSE:To extend and print out characters, signlas, etc. by assigning plural codes to a command which controls the size of characters to be printed. CONSTITUTION:A CPU4 reads out a command CD1 indicating the extension of horizontal direction from a buffer register 2 through a latch circuit 7 and supplies it to a character generator 8 and latch 10. Then the CPU4 outputs a reading pulse R2 to read out the contents (command CD1) from the latch and turns a signal G1 to ''1''. The dot data of the 1st line of a character code is read out from a generator 8 and supplied to an input terminal of a character controller 24. Since the signal G1 is ''1'' at that time, the dot data are extended twice and set to a shift register which has no drawing. Simultansouly with the setting of the whole dot data of the 1st line, the CPU4 outputs a signal G3 (''1'') to a head driver 55 through a latch circuit 6 and prints out the extended data through a thermal head 56. In the extension of vertical direction, printing is carried out in the same manner.
