Information on this designated printing position movement value is once stored in a vertical control buffer 6. Next, when printing of a next page is started, the output gate 7 is controlled by the information which is once stored, and a single row of printing data which is read from the line bit buffer 4 is delayed (or advanced) by a vertical movement value by controlling the gate 7 and thereby data is transferred to a printer 8 for printing.
