Abstract

PURPOSE:To offer an oscillation frequency stabilizing device, for a laser unit which can be easily handled, has a superior impact resistance and moreover, can be contrived a reduction in the size of the device as well, by a method wherein an optical fiber is used as a frequency reference to perform the stabilization of the oscillation frequency of a laser. CONSTITUTION:An oscillation frequency stabilizing device for laser unit is provided with an optical fiber 3, in which an emitting light from a 1.5mum band DFB laser 1 is incided, a laser driving circuit 7 and a laser driving circuit control unit 8. This fiber 3 is used as a frequency reference and has a characteristic to absorb the light to change monotonously to the optical frequency in the vicinity of the oscillation frequency of the laser 1. The unit 8 can be constituted of a photodetector 4, a differential amplifier 5, to which the output of this photodetector 4 is supplied as an output on one side and at the same time, to which a reference voltage is applied as an input on the other side, and a control circuit 6, to which the output of this amplifier 5 is given.
