Abstract
PURPOSE:To provide large absorbancy in a near infrared region and to enhance solubility and refletivity, by constituting a recording layer composed of at least one of a specific aluminum phthalocyanine derivative and a specific aluminum naphthalocyanine derivative. CONSTITUTION:In an optical recording medium performing recording and reading by semiconductor laser beam, a recording layer is formed of a layer composed of at least one of an aluminum phthalocyanine derivative represented by general formula (I) and an aluminum naphthalocyanine derivative represented by general formula (II). By this method, since the phthalocyanine derivative used in the recording layer is extremely well dissolved in a solvent not eroding a base plate, it is unnecessary to provide a bottom cost layer, and the recording medium can be prepared simply. Further, since this recording medium has large absorption in a near infrared region and high reflectivity, sensitivity is sufficiently high.
