Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium which is less affected by dust and flaws and has the S/N ratio prevented from degradation due to the degradation and the damage of a semireflexible layer. CONSTITUTION:A recording layer 5 where an irradiated part is burnt down by a recording laser beam to record information nonreversibly and a semireflexible layer 11 which is brought into contact with the recroding layer 5 and has 20- 50% reflection factor for the laser beam and has an irradiated part burnt down by the recording laser beam are provided on a base layer 10 transparent for the wavelength of the lase beam. For example, the recording layer 12 consisting of the mixture of nitrocellulose and carbon black, or the like is formed on the base layer 10 consisting of glass or the like through the semireflexible layer 11 consisting of silver, copper, or the like. A strong lase beam is irradiated from the side of the base layer 10 through an optical head 13 to form minute holes piercing the semireflexible layer 11, therby recording information.
