Abstract
PURPOSE:To efficiently wash a pickling tank in a shot time by discharging pickling liquid used in a front process from the pickling tank and thereafter washing the pickling tank with the heated dilute liquid of the pickling liquid for using in a rear process in the case of pickling different kind of steel stocks in the same pickling tank. CONSTITUTION:In a common steel stock and a stainless steel stock wherein oxidized scales are formed on the surfaces by hot-rolling them, the former is pickled with a hydrochloric acid aq. soln. and the latter is pickled with a sulfuric acid aq. soln. and thereby scales on the surfaces are dissolved by pickling and removed. In the case of separately pickling the common steel stock and the stainless steel stock in the same pickling tank, when firstly pickling the common steel stock and next pickling the stainless steel stock, hydrochloric acid liquid of pickling liquid is discharged after pickling of the common steel stock is finished and thereafter sludge in the pickling tank is roughly washed with water and removed. Then water is introduced into the pickling tank and sulfuric acid is added into the water so that its concn. is regulated to 1g/l and this soln. is heated at about 70 deg.C and the pickling tank is washed and residual hydrochloric acid is completely removed and washed and thereafter pickling of the stainless steel stock is performed. The pickling tank can be efficiently washed by this simple method.
