CONSTITUTION:In ingot making-hot rolling-annealing/pickling-cold rolling-pickling stages, oxide scale is formed on the surface of austenite stainless steel during rolling. This scale is removed with a ferric sulfate-hydrofluoric acid bath. A brushing stage is incorporated into a washing stage for washing away the acid soln. stuck by the pickling, and the steel surface is brushed. Thus, the residual scale on the steel surface is easily removed.
