Abstract
PURPOSE:To rapidly carry out the title descaling at a low cost by feeding high Ni high Cr stainless steel products to a machine such as a strainghtener to crack scale on the surfaces of the products, followed by dipping in a soln. of nitric and hydrofluoric acids. CONSTITUTION:Scaled high Ni high Cr stanless steel products are fed to a machine such as a straightener to crack scale on the surfaces of the products. At this time, the oracking rate is controlled to below 7%. Next the products are dipped in a soln. of about 2-20% nitric acid and about 2-20% hydrofluoric acid in a ratio of 2: about 1 for 20 min-1 hr to carry out descaling. After pickling, the products are washed with water.
